REILs
Runway end identifier lights Airport Lighting (For further information and a complete set of approach consist of a pair of synchronized flashing lights located on each side of the runway threshold.

PAPIs
Precision approach path indicators light units similar to the VASI but are installed in a single row of either two or four light units.

TRSA
Terminal Radar Service Areas areas where participating pilots can receive additional radar services. The purpose of the service is to provide separation between all IFR operations and participating VFR aircraft.

DUAT
Direct User Access Terminal system

SIGMET
An in-flight weather advisory that is considered significant to all aircraft. SIGMET criteria include severe icing, severe and extreme turbulence, duststorms, sandstorms, volcanic eruptions, and volcanic ash that lower visibility to less than 3 miles.

False Horizon
When the only or most distinct visual reference is a cloud formation, it can be confused with the horizon or the ground. A sloping cloud deck that extends into a pilot's peripheral vision will appear to be horizontal.

Steady red
Stop or Give way to other aircraft and continue circling Runway Incursion

Wing Stall
The wing will ordinarily stall at a lower angle of attack, and thus a higher airspeed, when contaminated with ice. Even small amounts of ice will have an effect, and if the ice is rough, it can be a large effect.

MAC
Mid Air Collision

Structural Ice
Pressure on the elevator may help to reattach airflow to the aileron. How quickly a surface collects ice depends in part on its shape. Thin, modern wings will be more critical with ice on them than thick, older wing sections.

Definition:
Is used after ice has built up to an appreciable amount. Typically this includes surface deice equipment.

False Horizon

Definition:

Taxi to

Definition:
In the absence of holding instructions, a clearance to “taxi to” any point other than an assigned takeoff runway is a clearance to cross all runways that intersect the taxi route to that point. It does not include authorization to taxi onto or cross the assigned takeoff runway at any point.
